Mom & Dad came to stay with Amanda & I, the first weekend of the month. I always look forward to having them as our guests, and this trip was long awaited since, the threat of Hurricane Ike slamming Greater Boca Raton canceled their original trip. What I hadn't anticipated was that Mom, Dad, my Father-In-Law and I would form an impromptu foursome and enjoy a half day of golf at the local "oceanside" 9-hole Red Reef Executive Course.
Now, it should be noted that Mom was two weeks into her weekly golf lessons, back in New Jersey. So, expectations were (shall we say) ... what they should be for someone who's only had two lessons.

SURPRISE, SURPRISE! She was GOOD!!!

Dad and I were - dare I say - shocked ...

She was even knockin' down her putts ...

Dad was knockin' down his putts, too!

Can't say the same for my Father-In-Law, who lost to Mom ... by 2 strokes.

Overall, though, I was impressed with his ability to play with only three clubs. All of which, were older than me. One of which, was a putter that I have reason to believe may have been stolen from a miniature golf course in Orlando.

Dad, too, was impressive. He still makes it tough to beat him. Our scores were tied after 9, with a 3-over par.

The best, though, was that I got to spend a day on the course with both Mom & Dad for the first time ever, and it went SO WELL...that I can't wait to do it, again!

That was Saturday...Sunday night was the Pittsburgh Steelers game, and there is nothing better than getting to watch the game with my Dad - and he was sure to bring his "Terrible Towels" for good luck.

Mom got into the spirit, too. HERE WE GO STEELERS, HERE WE GO!!!

Of course, one of the benefits of having the folks in town for a night game - where I elect to watch the game from home, rather than, at the home of the Iron City Club of South Florida: Bru's Room (Margate, FL) - is that you get fresh baked apple dessert with vanilla ice cream.

Mom's 21 over par, Steelers over Jacksonville 26-21, and all over a weekend spent in Florida where Amanda & I make our home ... priceless.

Great pictures! Too funny! I feel like I haven't spoken with you much lately (even though I have) which brought me into the 'im not even really missing kevin' stage again (as i go through in bouts) and then you just had to forcefully pull me back in (damn it) with this and you...
Glad the time was had.
(Mom's going to kill you for some of those pictures. Remind her that no one reads your blog). ;)
