It's Good to be a HERO!: Part II

I am very blessed that I have friends, who continue to amaze me... Not because of the price of their car, or the square footage of their home, or the length of their boat, or...

I am very blessed that I have "friends" who I consider to be the, "salt of the earth" noun
an individual or group considered as representative of the best or noblest elements of society."

To be brief, my good friend, Chris Tarrant of Barrie, Central Ontario, Canada (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barrie) pulled off an "act of kindness" that few, given the opportunity, would have the strength and courage to achieve.

Rather than to expound myself, here is the event in Chris' own words:

"We were hiking in the back country behind our cabin, two lakes back, and Hannah - our dog - found this young bull moose, who had fallen through the ice...

Daniel (my son), my brother-in-law and I, spent the next three hours getting him out.....quite an experience...

He went about 1,000 lbs, this boy, and the coolest part is - at one point - I had him in a bear hug to hi up on shore and help him out...

The other cool part is when I was swinging the axe, at first, he swam away from me (as any sane creature would!). After I handed the axe to my brother-in-law... I got down on the ice, at "ice" level... put my face over the open water, and talked to him... until he came to me, and put his face right next to mine...

The experince really touched my son, who was deeply moved by this strong creature, humbled by the elements. But, even more moved by his will to survive... It was something to behold..."
