Keeping in touch with friends and family, who are ALWAYS in our thoughts and prayers.

Colin was only one of the highlights of time spent with our nephews. Aiden & I spent some serious quality time together. The least of which, was a race car game I invented that gave us time, together. (Surprisingly, he won!)
Next, I gave Aiden my camera to play with - and, I gotta tell ya...he captured some good shots.
The Turkey:
His Uncle Kevin & Aunt Amanda:
Then, I took over, because it was time to carve the Turkey.
As expected, Dad did a fine job.
Before I sat down...at what's become "my seat"...I had to take a picture...
That's, "Thanksgiving."
However, the next night...Mr. Colin really started to mess with Aunt Amanda.
It didn't take long. She did it. My Dad did it - several years ago, with apple slices. But, Amanda, seriously, persevered. She stood out in the cold to gain their trust. Next thing you know...they're snacking on pumpkin, straight from her hand.

Outside the front door of our little home, we observe a wide variety of birds, butterflies, iguana, fish, frogs, insects and the occasional otter. From time to time, Amanda's love for all these critters forces me into action to save one of them from a variety of peril; a family of birds trapped on a busy highway, a duckling that fell through a storm drain, a butterfly caught in a screened enclosure, an injured baby possum, two dozen dime-sized turtles crossing a golf course cart path, turtles stranded in busy intersections...
Anyway, what particularly captures Amanda's interest are the little ducklings that frequent our front door, every couple months. They start out at 12...then there's 10...then, maybe 7,...then we take a vested interest in...the last 3 to 4. Thankfully, we've had some success. Therefore, you can find Amanda tending to these little fellows, in the morning...

...and, closer...

Turns out that there's this little turtle that's taken a fancy to Amanda! Every time she steps outside, he swims all the way across the canal, and right up to the bank to see her. So, she started tossing bread to him, too. Now, a few weeks earlier one of the neighbor's little kids was fishing outside, when Amanda noticed he had "something heavy" on the line. So, I went over to help him out and "something heavy" turned out to be a turtle. After I, released him from the hook, Amanda asked me, "Did he only have three legs?" I said, "Yes. He did." Well, that was her turtle, I saved.

So, as Amanda and this turtle have gotten to know each other better, she came up with a name for him, and started to try to hand feed him to keep the fish from stealing the bread away.

Not sure just what will be next, but I'm always "at the ready," and she's always outside, making a new friend.

She was even knockin' down her putts ...
